Decoding Church Architecture
2 November at 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
A 2 session course...10 hours for £30, concessions available.
Learn how to read a church with Dr Matthew Godfrey, Historic Churches Support Officer at the Diocese of Lincoln. Lincolnshire has an impressive number of churches with a rich and varied history. This course will help you to understand your local church by identifying different types of ecclesiastical architecture and building techniques and why the plan form of the building developed as it did in response to changes in liturgy, worship and population. As part of his teaching Matthew hopes to be able to take a walk around the exterior of the Cathedral - please dress appropriately for our changeable weather! To be eligible to take part, you'll need to be able to join us on both sessions of this 2 session course, which will take place on 2nd & 9th November 2018 - same place same time.
Tea, coffee & biscuits provided.
Booking is essential - places are strictly limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis once a completed enrolment form is received. For an enrolment form please email email@example.com or telephone 01529 461499.
This lifelong learning course is part of the Grow programme organised by the Lincolnshire County Council Community Learning service. We aim to attract new learners and courses are open to all aged 19 and over on 31 August 2018.
