May 29 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Join us for this entertaining, online, talk which describes a year in the life of the East Midlands folklore calendar – from mob-football games, to Maypole dances and Mummers plays. Special attention will be given to the famous Castleton Garland Celebration, which traditionally takes place on the date of the talk. Our speaker Dave Mooney will incorporate singing and puppetry, as well as a wealth of personal experiences and anecdotes, to illustrate the living traditions that are covered. A fun and interesting learning experience!
