History on your doorstep: how to research the stories of your neighbourhood…

This is a one day course, running from 10.00am to 4.00pm, where the Community Archaeologist for Heritage Lincolnshire, Lydia Hendry, will provide an introduction to conducting your own research; the morning session will focus on documents, either using on line resources, or public resources such as the archives at Lincoln and the afternoon session will show you how to plot archaeological features from aerial photographs onto maps. This course is very relevant to the Layers of History Project and Hackthorn as a study site.

This lifelong learning course is part of the Grow programme organised by the Lincolnshire County Council Community Learning service. We aim to attract new learners and courses are open to all aged 19 and over on 31 August 2017.
This course will take place at the Heritage Lincolnshire office in Heckington, and places are limited to 20, so booking in advance is essential.
