Peat has been extracted from Crowle & Thorne Moors since at least Medieval times. In the late 19th century this became more industrialised and railways began to be used by the peat works. Come and find out about this important industry. We will be providing train rides throughout the day. Also, there will be talks about the history of the moors and the development of the peat industry at 11.00 and 15.00 on each day.
