HODs – Made in Sleaford – Milling and More

16 September 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every day that begins at 12:00 pm, repeating until 18 September 2022

Part of the Lincolnshire HODs Festival 2022

In a picturesque setting by the River Slea, this award winning, fully restored working watermill is thought to be the only Sheriff’s Watermill still operating in England, and millers have produced flour on this site for over a thousand years.
For Heritage Open Days we’ll be displaying a timeline depicting the history of manufacturing in Sleaford, and on Sunday 11th September the mill will be rumbling into action and producing its own stone-ground flour. Watch the process from start to finish, ask our millers some questions and have a go yourself on the mini quern stones.
With a lovely gift shop stocking traditional Lincolnshire produce, this is a great place to begin your adventure through Sleaford’s landscape of industry.
