Internal Design ideas to promote accessibility

Join us for a free, online, talk.

This session will focus on physical aspects of design, such as horizontal and vertical circulation, and how we can plan these to maximise accessibility. We will also look in more detail at general factors such as colour contrast, surface textures and lighting and the importance of considering every physical and sensory aspect of a design proposal. We will look at architectural details such as handrails, their importance to both accessibility but also the historical character of a building. We will also use this session to look at signage and wayfinding in more detail, how to ensure people can maintain independence and find their way around without installing something that is inappropriate or imposing.

This talk is delivered by Sarah Sorrell from Oakley Estates.

Please ‘buy’ your tickets through our online shop so we know you will be joining us and can send you the link to join the talk.
