Introduction to traditional roofing repair

15 September at 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

On this one day introductory course you will discover the importance of  good craftsmanship in traditional roofing. Focussing on welsh and local stone slate, you will learn the conservation approach to roofs, gain an insight into how roofs function, discover how slates are made and dressed to fit a roof, and have a go at constructing a traditional roof structure on a rig.

Your tutor will be Richard Jordan, an experienced heritage roofer who has undertaken projects and training for Historic England, CADW, and a wide range of private clients over his career.
