Maps through the Ages

The history and everyday application of navigation and map reading in partnership with the Lincolnshire Wolds Countryside Service.

This two day course, to be held at Navigation Warehouse, Louth, will chronicle the development of maps and navigation throughout history, and also provide the learner with the essential skills needed to undertake self-guided walks in the Lincolnshire Wolds and beyond.

The tutor will offer an introduction to land navigation as well as vital coaching in safety, planning and kit selection. Also covered will be the effects of weather, how to deal with emergencies and how to 'read' the local environment.

To be eligible for this course you must be available for both sessions; this course starts on 3rd February 2020 and continues on 10th February 2020. (10am-4pm both days)

Tea, coffee & biscuits provided.
Booking is essential. For an enrolment form please email htladmin@heritagelincolnshire.org or telephone 01529 461499.
If you are a member of Heritage Lincolnshire you will be eligible for a discounted rate of £36.

This lifelong learning course is part of the Grow programme organised by the Lincolnshire County Council Community Learning service. We aim to attract new learners and courses are open to all aged 19 and over on 31 August 2019.
