The end of the Pier show: The history of the shows, the theatres, and the British seaside piers.

August 4 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Join us in welcoming Bob Massey as he presents this first talk in the History of the British Summer Holiday Series.

‘We’re all going on a Summer Holiday,
No more working for a week or two.
Fun and laughter on our summer holiday
No more worries for me or you
For a week or two’

The famous song from Cliff Richard certainly paints a picture in our mind of what we hope our British Summer holiday will be like.  We continue to look forward to having our main holiday away from work and from the ordinary day to day in summer, mainly during July or August when the sun shines brightly.

But how did we celebrate and enjoy our Summer holidays in the past, when we couldn’t fly away to a foreign destination and couldn’t guarantee the sunshine?

Tickets cost £5 for members of Heritage Lincolnshire and £7 for non-members in our website shop. There is a discounted ticket that covers all 4 talks in this series but if this isn’t the first time you have paid more why don’t you become a member and start saving?
