Why do we hold this Exhibition?

With the current economic climate affecting the Construction industry and the uncertainty of Brexit and now post-Covid, we wanted to bring businesses together in the East Midlands area to facilitate collaborative working, using local services and like-minded business people.

Being a small county-wide charity, we have some great assets and a strong, highly qualified and dedicated team. However this doesn’t always reflect in our marketing of the company due to budget constraints. It does not mean that we are unable to do the job, or less skilled, purely that we cannot shout about what we do as loudly as others. How many other businesses are in the same position? We want to put as many businesses as possible on a level playing field, to showcase what their qualities and services are, and how we can all work together.

We're back for 2022 so for more information on sponsorship and exhibiting check out the 2022 page or contact hannah.thompson@heritagelincolnshire.org or download the pack from below:

To attend the day as a delegate is free of charge and booking is essential.

Talks Programme for 2021

The UK has set out in law a target to bring all its greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2050.

Homes – both new and existing – account for 20% of greenhouse gas emissions in the UK, although considerable progress has been made in this sector there is still more to be done to decarbonise homes to help meet the 2050 target.

In 2019 Spring statement, a commitment was made by Government that by 2025 a Future Homes Standard will be introduced for new build homes to be future-proofed with low carbon and world-leading levels of energy efficiency.

Hear from Joe Campion of Quadrant Building Control, who will cover the following main topics:

– Update on the Building Regulations and what is being planned now and beyond
– Future Homes Standard – what can we expect?

Work related ill health in the UK is one of the biggest killers in the UK today and lung disease is the single biggest killer.  In 2019/20 12,000 people dies from work related lung disease long before their normal life expectancy.

We all know about Asbestos, and we know it kills.

If asked to go into a room full of Asbestos dust most people would say no because of their knowledge of this product and how it kills. But very few people properly understand the harm caused by construction dust from stone, cement, plaster etc.

This talk by Russ Pryor, Managing Director of Arion Training & Development Ltd, will take you through construction dust, how it comes about, its size and how it enters and harms the lungs.

Sustainable and green features in construction aren’t exactly new, but interest in eco-friendly or green buildings has grown significantly in recent years and we are seeing these new, sustainable, high-performing structures appear all over the world.

Why is this happening?

With COP26 on the horizon, consumers and businesses alike are recognising the impact of climate change and the grave importance it has on our environment.

This discussion, hosted by Chamber low carbon economy ambassador and MD of Amelio Solar Energy, Richard Jones, will be joined by a panel of experts from the public, private and education sectors, to discuss the roots of sustainable design, benefits and challenges compared to traditional design practices, as well as what’s happening now and any thoughts on sustainable construction beyond 2021.

Sustainability is becoming a conventional issue not just in business but across every walk of life.

As the Property sector seeks to reduce their carbon emissions, capturing the value of sustainability has always created challenges, however as part of the Government’s ambitious plans to become net zero by 2050, businesses of all shapes, sizes and sectors all have their part to play in this.

The benefits of sustainable properties are clear from an environmental perspective, but what about the financial benefits?

Here we will be joined by Director of Newton Fallowell Estate Agents, Rebecca Hoyles who will be discussing the effects sustainable design have on property values, now and in the future.
