Training Bursaries at Heritage Lincolnshire

Interested in a career in Archaeology or historic buildings?

We are hosting some bursaries this year as part of the Historic Environment Skills Project in partnership with Lincolnshire County Council, Lincoln Cathedral and Heritage Lincolnshire. The bursaries are aimed at those who have a passion for the Historic Environment and demonstrate aptitude, but who don't have an academic background.

There are opportunities in Field Archaeology and Building Preservation Trust Skills. The successful applicants will learn alongside professionals in the sector and receive a bursary to cover their living costs while they train with us.

Field Archaeology placements will train within Archaeological Project Services, working towards an NVQ in Archaeology. They will learn all the key skills required for preparing for and carrying out an excavation, and how to process what they have found.

The Building Preservation Trust bursary will focus on all the skills needed to form a project to rescue heritage at risk. The training will be heavily project focused, looking at how to engage with communities, identify problems with buildings, come up with a viable project and find funding.

For placement descriptions, and to apply, visit the Heritage Skills Centre website

The deadline for applications is Monday 13th August.
