The Old King’s Head, Kirton, Boston is probably the oldest secular building in the area. With a history dating back to 1599 as a Tudor inn, this Grade II building at risk has a rich history with many interesting stories to tell. Heritage Lincolnshire, an experienced Building Preservation Trust, has recently acquired the building and received a first round Heritage Enterprise pass from the Heritage Lottery Fund with development funding to bring the building back into use as a café with accommodation and provide local jobs, trainee opportunities and boost local tourism.
We now wish to procure a professional team (Lead Architect, Structural Engineer, Quantity Surveyor, M&E Engineer) to develop the scheme and work with Heritage Lincolnshire’s staff, project partners and stakeholders to deliver the development stage work and submission of a second stage application for a grant of £2m from the Heritage Lottery Fund. During the development stage there will be a full investigation of the historic building and a community consultation programme.
