Arts and heritage organisation and charity Our Big Picture are incredibly proud to announce it has successfully acquired an iconic grade 2 listed buildings dating from 1781 at 17 to 21 Bethlehem Street Grimsby as a permanent home.
Our Big Picture is an arts and heritage social enterprise based in NE Lincolnshire, that believe that everyone has the right to art in the lives and deliver positive art and heritage experiences where nobody is excluded, including public artwork, exhibitions in public spaces, young people activities including the Imaginarium, children and family workshops and drop-in art session, events, and online activities.
With the support from ourselves at Heritage Lincolnshire, we completed a successful application which was then submitted to the National Lottery Heritage Fund and has seen a grant of nearly £170K awarded to the organisation. This funding will assist with the purchase of the building and also to deliver a two-year programme of heritage-led cultural activities in Grimsby Town Centre, with the key objective of engaging a wider range of people with both heritage and the arts. This funding is made possible by money raised by National Lottery players, without whom, this project would not have been possible.
