Details
Fieldwalking as part of the Fenland Project located a number of Early and Middle Saxon Sites on the Fenland of Norfolk and Lincolnshire. Of these, ten underwent excavation and this volume summarises the results. Many of the sites started life in a ‘marine’ environment, possibly with saltmaking taking place. They developed into farming communities, growing crops, keeping livestock and making ditched fields and paddocks. The full excavation, environmental and ceramic evidence is included in this volume.
