Scandals of the Lincolnshire Gentry

The gentry and aristocracy of Lincolnshire have repeatedly proved that they are ‘no better than anyone else’ through a succession of scandals – greed, corruption, adultery and much else. This entertaining talk picks out a few of the more colourful incidents from across the county, featuring most of its best-known historic families.

Notes on speaker:

Adrian Gray is based at Laneham, between Retford and Lincoln. He is a graduate of Queens’ College, Cambridge, in History and the author of THIRTY books on aspects of local and national history. He is historical adviser to Pilgrims & Prophets Christian Heritage Tours and Bassetlaw Christian Heritage, both of which are community groups working to develop heritage tourism in Notts and Lincs. He runs large Facebook groups on Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire history.
