Richard III: A Childhood at War

Another new series of talks from the popular speaker, Matt Smith.

Richard III: From Birth to Bosworth

Join us, online, as we welcome back Matt Smith, Chairman of Richard III Society, with another new series of talks.

Richard III: A Childhood at War

Richard III is frequently viewed as springing into life in 1483, a man ready to grasp at the crown of his recently deceased brother. Matt Lewis will explore Richard’s childhood to see how being born into a country on the brink of civil war helped shape him, how his experiences might have defined his character, and ask whether the young Richard can tell us anything about the man at the centre of events in 1483.

Date: Tuesday 31st January 2023

Time: 7pm

Venue: Online

Tickets: £5 member / £8 non-member. A combination ticket for all talks in the series is £10 members / £16 non-members.
