Though spring is here we can sometimes still feel a bit depleted after winter, lacking energy and feeling that we still need to recuperate from colds or flu.
This is a lovely time to make herbal products with the plants resurfacing from hibernation.
In this workshop we will learn about traditional remedies that can revitalise us and restore our energy. We will start off by discussing the role and benefits of Western Herbal Medicine, our native herbal plants, and best ways to use them safely, including the most useful medicinal herbs to grow.
Then after some herbal tastings we will roll up our sleeves and make our own traditional herbal remedies to take home and put to good use.
Our remedies will include blending restoring herbal infusions, a spring tonic, a herbal syrup to treat hay fever or rid us of lingering coughs, and a salve to sooth winter depleted skin.
Please bring some clean small jars and bottles to use for your products. All the herbs /ingredients will be provided, plus handouts so you can recreate these recipes at home for benefit of friends and family.
Light refreshments will be available.
Fenland Natural Health was formed in 2016 by three enthusiastic Medical Herbalists.
Lois Campbell, Ghislaine Headland Vanni, Emma Barker met at college whilst completing the BSc (Hons) Degree in Herbal Medicine and set up FNH as an organisation to encourage natural holistic health and wellbeing to the wider community, promoting healthy eating, healthy lifestyles and Western Herbal Medicine.
We run monthly meetings (Herb club) at Sutterton village hall on the fourth Thursday of the month at 7.30pm), as well as herbal workshops. We are available for herbal walks and talks, and attend local events.
In addition, appointments can be booked for individual medical herbal consultations.
