‘The Suffragettes and the Suffragists – Votes for Women’
In celebration of the 2nd July 1928 which was the date that the Representation of the People (Equal Franchise) Act was passed giving all women the vote.
A popular, thought-provoking talk. Originally commissioned for the centenary of Leigh WI. The term ‘Suffragette’ will always be associated with women’s fight to win the vote but this talk will present a much wider insight into the struggle, including the early, often overlooked, pioneers of women’s rights.
Date: Monday 3rd July 2023
Time: 7pm
Venue: Online
Tickets: £8 member / £10 non-member.
