|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every day that begins at 2:00 pm, happening 2 times

Part of the Lincolnshire HODs Festival 2023

Burgh le Marsh’s late 19th century and early 20th century history involved one Jabez Good, an artisan, historian and barber. He set up the first Burgh le Marsh Museum and was instrumental in organising the town’s celebrations for the coronation of George V in 1911. His main interest was in wood carving. His carved self-portrait won him national recognition at an International Exhibition in 1882. To recognise his importance to our heritage, and celebrate it, we are organising a ‘Jabez Good Arts Festival’ at the Heritage Centre and inviting all local artists to produce a piece highlighting the town.
