HOD – Creativity Unwrapped at St Lawrence Church, Sedgebrook

9 September 2023 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Part of the Lincolnshire HODs Festival 2023

Discover Sedgebrook’s literary links from the Middle Ages to the present, displayed in the Markham Museum situated in St Lawrence Church (historic home of the famous Upright Judge Markham). Works from psalters and poetry to murder mysteries and whodunnits, connected to Sedgebrook through the authors or the content. Intriguing possibilities with tenuous links to Luttrell’s Psalter and the playwright, Ben Jonson. Proven links to writers from the 17th century to present day: John Donne, Francis Beaumont, George Crabbe, George Gordon, Austin Lee alias Austwick/ or Callender, Hugh Selwyn Taggart and Helen Golden.
