HOD – Weelsby Hall Heritage Open Day

17 September 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Part of the Lincolnshire HODs Festival 2023

Owned by Linkage Community Trust, visit one of the grandest buildings in North East Lincolnshire not usually accessible to the public. This special event is part of the Heritage Open Days Festival, England’s largest festival of history and culture. The Hall opened it’s doors to the public for the first time in 2020 and the event has returned annually ever since, due to its popularity.
Weelsby Hall is vitally important to Grimsby’s heritage and particularly its fishing heritage, having been built for George Sleight in the late 1800s. Linkage Community Trust, a Lincolnshire-based charity, acquired North East Lincolnshire’s grandest building in 1982 to serve the local and national needs of people with learning disabilities.
Find out about the heritage of this wonderful place through a self-guided tour around the grounds, with access to the entrance hall of Weelsby Hall and a small number of interior rooms. Learn more about how a grant from National Lottery Heritage Fund is helping Linkage to preserve the hall for future generations.
Refreshments, car parking and toilets are available.
