|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every day that begins at 10:00 am, happening 2 times

Part of the Lincolnshire HODs Festival 2023

Cleethorpes Pier was constructed 10 years after the railway arrived in Cleethorpes in 1863. Join us as we celebrate the vision of the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway Chairman, Sir Edward Watkin, in the development of the resort and pier over the following 150 years. Visit to learn more about the achievements of this very remarkable star of the 19th Century. A Prince and a Castle also have a part to play in the exhibition. In more modern times, the resort hosted many famous entertainers. The exhibition features photographs of some well known names. You may remember visiting the many shows of the day.
