|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every day that begins at 10:00 am, repeating until 18 September 2022

Part of the Lincolnshire HODs Festival 2022

Our School was built in 1484, by William of Wainfleet, known also as the founder of Magdalen College, Oxford. The scholars of yesteryear learned Latin and Greek here, and were taught in a religious setting, as William was the Bishop of Winchester. An important man, he also became Lord Chancellor to the King in later life; the highest attainable office in the state. This 538 year-old building stands today, housing a Lending Library on the ground floor, with a Museum on the first floor. Both are open for Heritage Open Days with special exhibitions on how education developed over the last 600 years.
