Lincoln Longwool Sheep: the Louth Carpet and Woollen Industry.

10 September 2022 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Part of the Lincolnshire HODs Festival 2022

The famous Lincoln Longwool sheep provided the alleviation of poverty through work in the Carpet and woollen industries in Louth. The wealth of Louth at the time can be seen in the historic and beautiful Georgian houses on Westgate. In our upstairs Town Gallery you can see our Louth Carpets exhibit. We also display the special and famous Longwool bowl. Other tools, including an original wool winder, are displayed. In the carving ‘Trophy of Spring’, there is a lamb’s head on the top. Our award winning museum has four galleries, a library and a gift shop.
