POSTPONED – Location and Interpretation: Finding Archaeology in the Lincolnshire Landscape.

14 April 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Join us, and Tom Lane, as he delivers another interesting online talk:

Location and Interpretation: Finding Archaeology in the Lincolnshire Landscape

Any walk through the countryside is a walk through time. Indeed, renowned Landscape Archaeologist W.G. Hoskins stated “The most comprehensive historical document in Britain is the Landscape itself”. This presentation sets out to help us read aspects of that unique documentary resource. The landscape has been forming for millions of years. Some of its more recent changes are natural but the imprint of humans is all over the land. In this presentation we attempt to disentangle and discuss what natural and archaeological indicators we can see in some of Lincolnshire’s many landscapes. We will consider their relationships, ages, origins, interpretations and meanings.

Tickets: Members £6 & Non-members £8.

Tickets can be bought from our shop (under Unique Talks in Events & Talks) and if this isn’t the first time you’ve paid more why don’t you become a member and start saving?
